I have been designing since 1994, and every season I see the same thing: what people keep is not the object, but how it made them feel. Here are ideas for everyone on your list, from Christmas to New Year.
What are the top Christmas gift trends for 2026?
Two trends lead the season:
- Experiences. Half of US shoppers (50%) plan to give an experience this year, up from 39% in 2024, according to Deloitte's 2026 holiday survey. And 79% of them will add a physical item to hand over.
- Personalized gifts. In the same survey, 33% of Gen Z and 29% of millennials plan to buy personalized or monogrammed gifts.
Mexico is moving the same way. According to an Appinio study quoted by El CEO, the favorite experiences to give are meals (55%), concert or event tickets (54%) and weekend getaways (47%).
What are good Christmas gifts for the whole family?
What works best for a family is something you enjoy together that turns into a tradition:
- Something that brings everyone together: a new board game, a big puzzle or a karaoke night.
- A memory with everyone in it: a printed photo album of the year, a 2027 calendar with your photos or an animated video starring the whole family (pets included).
- A group outing: tickets to a holiday show, a play or a day trip.
